POCATELLO — Local and federal authorities are searching for a 34-year-old Pocatello man who is considered to be armed and dangerous.

They say Sean Patrick McKinney is wanted in connection to a residential robbery that occurred on March 31 in the Pocatello area and involved a single mom with kids. McKinney reportedly had a knife during the robbery.

In addition, McKinney is wanted for an unrelated incident on March 30 in which he, a convicted felon, allegedly had a firearm.

Pocatello police did not release any additional details about the robbery or firearm incidents on Tuesday due to ongoing investigations, but they did say two other suspects have been arrested in connection to the incidents. They are asking the public to help them locate McKinney as well.

The suspect is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He has hazel eyes and is bald. McKinney has the numerals 208 tattooed on his left hand and has his last name tattooed on his back. He has other tattoos on his chest.

The U.S. Marshals Service, which is also involved in the search for McKinney, reported that he “has violent tendencies and has been known to carry a firearm.”

Authorities are asking anyone who knows of McKinney’s whereabouts to contact them immediately.

“Do not approach or attempt contact with McKinney. Contact law enforcement immediately to alert us of his location, associates, and/or vehicle,” according to a news release from the Pocatello Police Department. “Please forward any relevant information about McKinney’s whereabouts to Detective Sampson, Sgt. Diekemper with the Pocatello Police Department, or the US Marshals Office.”

To report information about the suspect, people can contact the Pocatello Police Department at 208-234-6100 or the U.S. Marshals Service at 208-317-2904.
