Blackfoot man facing charges after fight

BLACKFOOT — A Blackfoot man is facing three charges following a fight at an apartment on Camas Street last week.
Lawrence Wayne Day Jr., 41, has been charged with felony aggravated assault as well as misdemeanor counts of malicious injury to property and disturbing the peace.
Capt. Kurt Asmus, of the Blackfoot Police Department, said Day got into a physical altercation with a 25-year-old male on Thursday. During the fight, Day allegedly threw a knife at the victim, but missed and hit a window at an apartment complex. Officials say he also tore off a screen and damaged another window during the incident.
The victim mostly suffered a few bruises, but may also have had a concussion, Asmus said.
Officials are still trying to determine if anyone else was involved in the altercation.
Day is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on July 29.
