BLACKFOOT — Following three days of jury trial, a Blackfoot man accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to one count of felony injury to a child last week.

Kelley, J. Anderson, 60, of Blackfoot, was originally charged with four felony counts of lewd conduct with a child.

Bingham County Prosecutor Cleve Colson said Anderson could be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison and fined up to $50,000.

Colson said the victim in the case was Anderson’s granddaughter and he was charged in connection to incidents that occurred in 2010 and 2011 when the girl was 11 and 12 years old.

An investigation was launched after the abuse was reported to law enforcement, Colson said.

Sentencing in the case was set for May 11.
