BLACKFOOT — A Blackfoot man facing felony charges of aggravated assault and second-degree kidnapping, as well as an enhancement charge for using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, has pleaded not guilty.

After reviewing court records, the Post Register reported that Perry allegedly taped his mother’s mouth and ankles and threatened her with a gun — which was later determined to be an unloaded BB gun — in February because he thought she was working with federal law enforcement.

The victim was able to free herself and leave her apartment, the Post Register reported. Perry later surrendered to police following a standoff that lasted for more than an hour.
